Seal Installation Instructions
- Remove the plastic dust cover from the rear center of the motor.
- Use a flat tip screwdriver to hold the impeller still by placing it down the outlet of the wet end and into a impeller slot.
- While holding the screwdriver in the impeller steady, place a wide flat tip screwdriver in the slot that was behind the dust cover and turn 2-3 times counter clockwise.
- Now loosen out the four 1/4” nut screws along the rear perimeter of the motor.
- Remove the wet end from the motor by repeating the counter clockwise turns in step number 3.
- Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the faceplate bolts on the wet end.
- Remove the old seal by tapping the seal from the out side of the wet end inward.
- Clean out all the old seal adhesive and dirt from the wet end and wet cleaned area with purple PVC primer.
- Place the new seal in a 1” PVC coupling black side down into the PVC coupling).
- Cover the stainless edge facing you with clear 100% silicone.
- While holding the PVC coupling, press the new seal into the same position of the old seal.
- Remove and replace the ceramic bushing on back of the impeller, making sure it is in straight.
- Reassemble the unit and allow to cure for 24 hours.
