Bio Nuggets are a laboratory produced porous matrix aggregate. Bio Nuggets are specially designed to immobilize, feed, reproduce, and house the various strains of bacteria found in Bio Booster and Bio Denitrator. Bio Nuggets enhance the biological capacity of any filter system by acting as a biological "furnace". This enhanced biological capacity allows for a much larger " biological load " to be put on the system without stress or ammonia build up. Bio Nuggets are best used in both a high oxygen area of the system as well as a slow flow area of the system (if available). This will provide an environment for nitrification as well as denitrification. Bio Nuggets are great for systems that have a large population or for systems that generate large amounts of waste products. Do not confuse Bio Nuggets with ceramics or aggregates that merely provide surface area for bacterial growth.
C.F.M. is a phosphate free blend of the highest quality activated carbon mixed with Bio Nuggets. This carbon is extremely activated & is exclusive for water purification not air. The carbon portion is comprised of different sizes of carbon with varying pore structures. This blend of carbon was custom made to adsorb a broad spectrum of contaminates, odors, pesticides, colors, chlorine, dissolved organics, and many heavy metals. The Bio Nuggets in C.F.M. have been charged with bacteria. These charged Bio Nuggets keep carbon surfaces clean and extend the useful life of the carbon. Our carbon blend does not contain mass produced coconut shell, pelletized, or vapor phase carbons. These carbons are inferior, and are not for use in aquariums. The carbon in C.F.M. has an extremely low ash content and has a high iodine level making it ideal for use in marine and reef applications. C.F.M. comes in a 16 oz., 64oz., and a 3.5 gallon pail. The 16 oz. size comes in it's own filter bag. C.F.M. lasts for up to six months before needing to be changed.
